Technical stuff

We generally fly with 2 main air-frames which seem to fit most of our client’s needs best: the DJI S1000 with a Panasonic GH4 camera, and a small DJI Phantom 3 Pro which is a really cost effective and neat solution, especially if you want shots inside a hall or factory for example.  Flying inside buildings brings its own technical challenges, but the images can be spectacular.

Our Droidworx SkyJib 8 is a heavy-lift Hollywood movie machine designed to carry our Canon C300 with its broadcast standard 50Mb/s mxf wrapper.  You get great pictures, but a relatively short flight for each set of batteries.

The S1000 / GH4 combination, offers 4K or full 1920 HD at 50p and up to 200 Megabits in a variety of codecs and wrappers. We think the Panasonic GH4 DSLR is a perfect compromise for broadcast or corporate as it offers a great filmic look; high bit rate and specialist tweaks such as adjustable gamma together in a very low weight body.

All the machines have air-ground video  links, so you can see the shots from the drone in real time.
